Job Description
5th grade full‑time teacher for Rocky Peak Virtual Elementary. Proficient in digital programs such as Zoom, Canvas, Class Dojo, Nearpod, etc. Live instruction over Zoom 8:30 am–1:00 pm. Ability to manage the progression of learning and the progression of student behavior over Zoom and other digital programs. Ability to create and manage daily lesson plans in language arts, math, writing, science, and social studies.
Work in professional learning communities. Proficient or willing to be trained in using Jordan District provided curriculum. Ability to take best teaching practices and use them in a virtual classroom setting. Strong communication skills in written and verbal methods with stakeholders via text, email, or phone call.
Remote live instruction over Zoom 8:30 am–1:00 pm. Reside in Utah. Ed Tech Endorsement preferred. Virtual teaching experience preferred.
Licensure RequirementsAll applicants must have a Professional Educator License awarded by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or apply for an Associate Educator License (AEL) to be eligible to apply to Jordan School District and participate in our Alternate Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) Program when hired. Proof of an AEL is required before you will be added to the candidate pool.

Utah State RetirementBenefit eligible employees are automatically members of the Utah Retirement Systems (URS). This means that the District contributes into the URS plan on your behalf each month.
