OverviewGood Samaritan University Hospital, a Magnet®-designated facility for Nursing Excellence and Level I Trauma Center, is seeking a dynamic Nursing Director of Medical/Surgical Services to join our leadership team during a time of transformative growth. With the opening of our state‑of‑the‑art Patient Care Pavilion, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of inpatient nursing care at a premier academic medical center.
This role provides strategic and operational leadership for 24/7 nursing operations across six Medical/Surgical units and the oncology service line. We are seeking an innovative, people‑focused leader who inspires teams, advances quality and safety, and delivers exceptional patient experiences.
- Provide leadership and oversight for patient care delivery across six Med/Surg units and the oncology service line
- Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer to advance innovative nursing care models
- Ensure high standards of quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee staffing, budgeting, and optimal utilization of nursing resources
- Lead, mentor, and develop Nurse Managers and frontline nursing staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional growth, collaboration, and Magnet excellence
- Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business, Health, or allied field required. - Licensure/Certification:
Licensed Registered Nurse, New York State - Skills, Knowledge or Abilities:
Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements, electronic medical record, and budgeting - 7+ Years of Experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing with progressive leadership responsibility required

The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
