ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On‑Demand Team Member (TM). Your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. As an On‑Demand TM, you will not be on the posted weekly schedule but can create your own by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members through our myTime mobile scheduling app.

When you pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. We also ask for active engagement by picking up and working shifts at least every four weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you must respond to our attempts to confirm interest in working shifts. If you do not respond or do not work at least one shift within five months, your employment may be terminated.

Should you be offered a position, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short‑term structured training schedule before you can pick up shifts.

Advocates of guest experience welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. They are knowledgeable about both in‑store and digital services and solutions, driving adoption, usage, and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the check‑lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick‑up and drive‑up while ensuring exceptional quality.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete your daily tasks.
  • Assist guests in a welcoming way to solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store, both in general and in your area.
  • Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately, complying with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events.
  • Explain and assist with Target Loyalty program enrollment and other fulfillment services.
  • Teach guests how to use Wallet and other features within the Target App.
  • Attempt every return and partner with leaders as needed to solve for the guest.
  • De‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience with leaders.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area.
  • Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Work safely, comply with all safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible.
  • Support guest services such as order pick‑up, drive‑up, returns, and maintain compliance with adult beverage laws.
  • Support cash office processes as needed, including cash system management.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
