Position Overview
Join our distinguished legal team as a Litigation Paralegal, where you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic personal injury litigation proceedings. You should be a proactive individual possessing exemplary research capabilities, organizational acumen, legal drafting proficiency, and exceptional communication skills.
Responsibilities- Draft and file pleadings with accuracy, compliance to legal formatting requirements, and adherence to deadlines.
- Propound discovery in a timely manner, ensuring proper case captions and proofs of service. Serve discovery documents properly and via e‑service.
- Effectively communicate with clients to gather all relevant information and documents; review and analyze files to extract key information.
- Respond to discovery requests promptly, using appropriate objections when needed and providing substantive responses that balance maximizing the client’s case value with privacy interests.
- Draft and format other discovery tools, including deposition notices, requests for vehicle inspections, responses to demands for medical examinations, etc. Review incoming subpoenas for appropriate limitations and ensure timely service.
- Organize and manage case files efficiently, properly naming, saving, and filing pleadings, discovery, evidence, and expert documents in appropriate folders.
Communicate actively with all relevant parties—handling attorneys, clients, experts, witnesses—to provide case status updates, upcoming deadlines, and time‑sensitive matters. - Participate actively and be well prepared during department and team meetings.
- Schedule and oversee coordination of depositions, hearings, and other case‑related events.
- Assist with expert designation and coordination of expert files; support all trial preparation aspects, including managing witness subpoenas, preparing trial binders, coordinating with experts, and ensuring compliance with local and courtroom rules.
- Provide valuable support to attorneys during trial, including assistance with exhibits and witness examination to enhance case presentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Proficiency in utilizing legal research tools and case management software.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Competence in handling multiple tasks simultaneously and thriving under pressure.
- Well‑versed in state and federal court rules and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- Base pay range: $25.00/hr – $45.00/hr
