Job Description:

We create and deliver tailored marketing strategies for Expedia Group’s brands, focusing on establishing strong connections and cohesive experiences for travelers and partners. We leverage our functional expertise and creative excellence to build trust and loyalty for our brands through innovative marketing approaches and technology.

Expedia Group’s Global Media & Sponsor ships team powers growth for brands including Expedia,  and Vrbo through worldclass brand media. We’re looking for a Media Automation Manager to streamline and modernise how our brand digital media programmes are planned, activated, measured and optmised. The role focuses on reducing manual and repetitive data entry and other tasks, eliminating manual handoffs and accelerating our response times through practical automation and the smart application of GenAI and platform capabilities.

You will not be expected to build production systems yourself. Instead, you’ll partner with internal technology and platform teams and trusted external partners to scope, pilot and scale solutions that materially improve efficiency and quality of output of digital media team workflows. You’ll champion the adoption of existing and emerging tools, drive change management, and track measurable impact across our global teams and media campaigns, with an emphasis on digital brand channels (e.g. CTV, You Tube, Paid Social, Audio).

This role reports into the Senior Manager, Digital Media and is part of a hands-on team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement across brand channels including CTV, You Tube, Paid Social, and Audio.

In this role, you will:
  • Identify and size automation opportunities across digital media planning, trafficking, activation, optimisation and reporting workflows (CTV, You Tube, Paid Social, Audio).

  • Translate pain points and manual /repetitive tasks into clear problem statements and requirements; prioritise a roadmap by impact, effort and risk, aligning with Digital Media Trading & Activation, Media Data & Tech, Data Engineering MLS and AI stakeholders.

  • Lead proofs of concept and pilots (e.g., workflow automation, API integrations, GenAI copilots, reporting and insights automation, standardised dashboards) and coordinate the path from pilot to scaled rollout.

  • Partner with internal platform owners and external vendors to design and rapidly onboard to automation solutions, leveraging existing stacks where possible while considering net-new external solutions as necessary for pace.

  • Establish and steward standards for media operations (naming, taxonomies, templates, playbooks) that enable automation, accurate measurement and faster experimentation.

  • Orchestrate user acceptance testing with channel teams; gather feedback, close gaps and ensure solutions meet performance, governance and privacy & legal requirements.

  • Drive adoption and change management by creating documentation, training, hosting demos, and tailor enablement by discipline to embed new ways of working.

  • Define and report success metrics (e.g., time saved, error rate reduction, cycle time, activation lead times); maintain an adoption scorecard and communicate progress to leadership.
