Professional Experience Release of Information (ROI) Specialist Description

• Process and complete Release of Information (ROI) requests by accurately retrieving, reviewing, scanning, and returning patient medical charts in accordance with organizational policies.
• Scan and transmit medical records daily, ensuring timely and secure delivery of information.
• Datestamp incoming requests and highlight required documentation to expedite processing and meet turnaround timelines.
• Validate patient authorizations and ROI requests to ensure compliance with internal procedures, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
• Receive, triage, and prioritize customer requests from multiple sources, processing each through appropriate systems within required response time frames.
• Provide high‑quality customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and authorized third parties regarding medical record requests and inquiries.
• Educate customers on information confidentiality, privacy laws, and proper procedures for requesting medical records.
• Accurately address customer inquiries related to patient information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Identify and respond effectively to both internal and external customer needs using available tools and resources.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and secure filing systems for all medical records and documentation.

• Three (3) years of Release of Information (ROI) experience
• Proficient in Epic ROI Navigator Module
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Proven ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Demonstrated data entry accuracy of 95% or higher
• Experience using efax systems and PDF applications for document processing

This is a Contract position based out of West Hollywood, CA.

Pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
