Graduate Assistant Athletic Communications

New Haven Athletic Communications is looking for a graduate assistant to be the primary point of contact for four sports. This is a 10-month position beginning on August 1, 2026. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, a team-first mentality, and the long-term goal of working in athletic communications.

The successful candidate will:

• Manage the social media accounts of the assigned programs
• Create content (photos, videos, graphics, etc.) for assigned programs
• Be willing to travel to road games
• Learn how to stat and call games using NLS and Presto software
• Learn how to perform standard website maintenance for
• Serve as liaison between the assigned programs and local/national media outlets
• Report scores and information to the NCAA and NEC
• Assist with the supervision of student workers
• Learn communications roles and be available to work all home basketball games
• Become comfortable with running an NCAA Division I home game with the assistance of a full-time staff administrator

• Pursue a master’s degree in a related field
• Have a background in content creation
• Apply and be accepted into a graduate degree program at the University of New Haven
• Have strong writing skills
• Have a working knowledge of Adobe Suite
• Have a working knowledge or interest in learning NLS and Presto software
• Be available to work nights and weekends
