As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access in West Hartford, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet employees and drivers, verify credentials, manage badges, and control entry and exit points. You will complete routine patrols, document activity, and stay visible to help reduce security-related issues while delivering strong customer service.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by following site‑specific access control procedures, verifying identification, issuing credentials, and directing arrivals to the correct areas.
• Monitor entry and exit points for the distribution location, control access to docks, yards, and restricted areas, and help to deter unauthorized entry by enforcing visitor and vendor sign‑in requirements.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including initiating site emergency response activities and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Document and report access activity, suspicious behavior, and policy violations using written logs and/or electronic systems, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, checking doors, gates, and loading areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
