* ** What to Expect as a Nursing Supervisor at Saint Mary's Home*
* The Nursing Supervisor, reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, oversees resident care and clinical staff performance during assigned shifts. This role ensures high-quality care, supports interdisciplinary teamwork, and serves as the administrative representative when leadership is off‑site.
** Primary Responsibilities*
* + Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and hazard‑prevention policies.
+ Promote resident satisfaction and support the department's goals and quality‑improvement initiatives.
+ Uphold ethical and professional standards in line with all applicable regulations.
+ Foster a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
+ Participate in ongoing education and complete all required annual trainings.
+ Lead staff through coaching, development, recognition, and performance management.
+ Manage resources and staffing effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care.
** REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
** :
1. Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
3. Three years in Clinical practice, with one year in long-term care required.
4. Acute care and supervisory experience preferred.
5. Excellent communication and assessment skills required.
6. Working knowledge of state (CT) regulatory requirements.
7. Computer literacy strongly preferred.
8. CPR certification.
9. Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable Accommodation.
