Role Summary
The Medical Liaison acts as a scientific and clinical liaison between Novo Nordisk and external customers to communicate medical information and the value of NNI products. The role supports Medical, Sales and Marketing, Managed Care, and Government by using clinical credentials and expertise to engage healthcare providers and organizations. It involves field-based clinical support, relationship development, and collaboration with internal teams to advance scientific exchange and access to products.
Responsibilities- Administrative Duties:
- Completes administrative duties accurately and on time in line with current SOPs and practices
- Complies with guidelines, policies, and compliance requirements
- Manages regional budgets and administrative needs effectively
- Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes; assists others in applying them
- Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures
- Records activities in CRM (e.g., VEEVA) and expenses in Concur per FMA procedures
- Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
- Attends medical/scientific meetings; stays current on data for NNI products
- Develops relationships with key health care providers and IHNs; promotes appropriate use of NNI products
- Supports representatives in answering provider questions; enhances value through collaboration
- Establishes medical account strategy through relationship cultivation and collaboration opportunities
- Field-Based Clinical Support:
- Collaborates with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions and HEOR presentations
- Partners with Marketing and Sales to inform scientific strategies for medical community engagement
- Coordinates with trial sites to ensure study initiation, completion, and publication; supports patient recruitment and site communication
- Ensures integrated coverage of regional clinical and scientific needs with regional FMA teams
- Provides customized system-wide clinical education and manages professional relations within IHNs
- Coordinates with HSM to educate executives and formulary stakeholders to secure access to NNI products
- Develops and presents product/scientific updates, including formulary presentations
- Doctoral degree required
- At least two years of experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
- Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience (obesity & liver health) preferred
- Displays business acumen/knowledge from formulary decisions and related activities
- Strong communication skills
- Doctoral degree required
- 50-75% overnight travel required
- Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must be in good standing with Novo Nordisk vehicle records policy
