Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Operations Intern to join our West Hartford, CT team. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to their major that will enhance and complement classroom learning. In addition, at the West Hartford facility, the student will gain exposure to all the aspects of the full product life cycle of highly engineered aerospace components.

  • Identify and evaluate high-impact opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) within operations and manufacturing.
  • Analyze operational workflows to determine where AI can deliver measurable performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT to assess technical feasibility, system compatibility, and implementation constraints.
  • Benchmark AI initiatives across other Triumph sites to identify best practices and lessons learned.
  • Conduct ROI analyses to evaluate financial and operational benefits of proposed AI initiatives.
  • Support implementation of AI solutions when business case and feasibility are validated.
  • Drive maximum manufacturing floor utilization through:
    • Machine monitoring and performance tracking
    • CNC programming optimization
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure impact of AI-driven improvements.
  • Track, analyze, and report results to ensure sustained performance gains and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization
  • Candidates must be a US citizen or a US Permanent Resident
