Job Title:
Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. The role involves conducting supplier capability assessments, audits, and ensuring the closure of corrective actions. You will perform root cause analysis, analyze defect trends, and develop supplier improvement plans. Additionally, you will review and approve First Article Inspections with measurement verification and align supplier inspection methods with our standards.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct supplier capability assessments and audits.
+ Ensure closure of corrective actions.
+ Perform root cause analysis and defect trend analysis.
+ Develop and implement supplier improvement plans.
+ Review and approve First Article Inspections with measurement verification.
+ Align supplier inspection methods with our standards, including GD&T.
+ Collaborate with CMM programming and metrology to validate measurement integrity.
+ Maintain accurate supplier documentation, reports, and compliance records.
+ Work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and engineering teams.
+ Drive supplier performance aligned with quality, delivery, and compliance goals.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in quality engineering and supplier quality engineering in regulated manufacturing.
+ Working knowledge of ISO 9001; exposure to AS9100 is preferred.
+
Experience with hands-on supplier audits, corrective actions, RCCA, and SCAR ownership.
+ First Article Inspection experience, including AS9102 style reviews.
+ Ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T to ANSI Y14.5 standards.
+ Experience in validating measurement methods with metrology or CMM programming.
+ Strong analytical problem-solving skills and defect trend analysis.

+ Cross-functional partnering experience with procurement, operations, and engineering.
+ Clear and concise communication with suppliers and internal teams.
+ Familiarity with CMM, PC-DMIS, or MCOSMOS experience.
+
Experience with supplier scorecards and APQP style readiness.
+ CQE or CQA certification;
Six Sigma exposure is advantageous.
+
Experience with SPC, reliability testing, and data reporting.
+ Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments.
+ Bachelor's degree preferred; technical discipline strongly preferred.
Work Environment
The position is based onsite in West Hartford, CT. The role requires travel to suppliers for audits or investigations as needed. You will be working within a regulated, discrete manufacturing environment. This opportunity allows you to influence supplier quality standards at a historic U.S. manufacturer and directly impact product quality, compliance, and delivery outcomes. You will partner with engineering, procurement, metrology, and operations, and gain exposure to defense-oriented manufacturing and regulated environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
