Corporate Accountant

Our client is seeking a Corporate Accountant located outside the Hartford area. This opportunity is ideal for either a staff-level accountant with a strong understanding of debits and credits who is ready to take the next step, or an experienced accounting professional looking for a new opportunity.

• Perform monthly close activities including journal entries and accruals
• Preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations – follow up when needed
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements
• Preparation of financial reports as needed, including budget to variance.
• Lead and contribute to monthly review call, articulating the “why” behind the numbers”
• Create and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for all applicable processes.
• Perform all other related duties and/or projects assigned to meet the needs of the company.

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years accounting experience
• Excellent computer skills, advanced proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Exceptional technical skills with attention to detail and ability to drive process improvements
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, be a self-starter, and effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
