About The Role
Assemble and sub-arc weld beams for use in the manufacturing of trailers.
Responsibilities- Read and properly interpret blueprints for specified beams.
- Assemble beams to established quality standards for the sub arc weld process within acceptable limits set by TK.
- Perform tack, zipper, flat, horizontal, and submerged arc welds within acceptable quality standards set by TK.
- Assist Lead Welder in Beam Department to effectively and efficiently produce beams.
- Operate overhead and jib cranes safely and efficiently.
- Maintain acceptable attendance per company guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or GED is preferred. Must be familiar with wire feed welding equipment. Ability to apply good math skills to add, subtract, and divide fractions and/or decimals. Ability to work at a steady pace to assemble and weld beams that meet company standards for quality. Ability to use measuring tools and devices accurately. Possess a positive attitude, good work ethic, and ability to work in a goal‑oriented team environment.
Must possess good verbal & written communication skills. Must have good safety awareness.

While performing duties of job, employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
At times, must use ladders to work at heights of up to 12 feet.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
