Bayer is a global leader in agriculture and life sciences, committed to advancing sustainable solutions. The Seed Technician will support production operations and continuous improvement initiatives in the West Fargo facility.
Responsibilities- Operate production equipment and use real‑time data to optimize plant processes.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Drive the adoption of 5S, Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement practices.
- Utilize 5
WHY techniques to initiate process and standard work improvements. - Provide coaching and training to seasonal workers, trainees and peers.
- Ensure upstream activities (e.g., field inspection, grower contract) meet company standards.
- Use SAP to document key readings, maintenance orders, and production information.
- Maintain process documentation such as operating, start‑up, shutdown procedures, standard work, and instrumentation diagrams.
- Adhere to Bayer’s Health, Safety, Environment and QA/QC standards.
- Comply with internal procedures and support legal compliance.
- Lead daily Direction Setting meetings and allocate resources across production areas.
- Support metrics and Visual Management boards to drive teamwork.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic IT knowledge (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Valid driver’s licence; driving record meets company guidelines.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
- Willingness to work days, nights, rotating shifts, weekends and overtime.
- Advanced education (technical, associate’s or bachelor’s degree).
- Intermediate computer skills, SAP and PLC experience.
- Minimum three years’ manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical or row‑crop industries.
- Experience in a continuous 24/7 rotating shift schedule.
Salary: $22.91 – $28.81 per hour (estimate). Potential bonus or commission. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, and more.
