Part‑time Retail Employee – The Container Store – West Des Moines, IA

The Retail Employee / Project Specialist guarantees customers an exceptional experience in the store or at pick‑up. The part‑time schedule includes daytime, evenings, weekends and early mornings.

• Welcome and greet customers as Host at the front entrance or throughout the store.
• Connect with customers across the store and suggest solutions to their organizational challenges.
• Design and sell custom closets and other storage and organization solutions.
• Handle checkout with a strong focus on customer experience.
• Introduce and enroll customers in the rewards program.
• Work merchandise processing during early mornings or evenings, as scheduled.
• Maintain the sales floor—keep shelves full and presented per brand standards.
• Support carry‑out pickup in cars via curbside or parking lot.
• Assist in cleaning routines: dusting, restrooms, vacuuming.
• Process curbside pickup/orders for delivery.
• Organize stockroom to support selling efforts.
• Adhere to time expectations, performing tasks accurately and timely.
• Engage customers to solve their organizational challenges.

• High school diploma preferred.
• Retail sales experience a plus.
• Strong computer skills.
• Enjoys engaging with people and connecting with customers.
• Understands flexibility in scheduling is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
