We are currently looking for a Director of Operations to join our West Des Moines Office! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Reefer/Van truckload operations. Great full-time first shift schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-5pm!
A day in the life of a Decker Director of Operations looks like:- Assisting in day-to-day operations of a 250+ Reefer/Van Fleet to ensure productivity expectations with utilization, quality, safety, service and cost-effective management of assets
- Daily checkouts with each Driver Leader
- Assisting the Shop Foreman and personnel with maintenance/securement related issues
- Working with Driver Leader direct reports to ensure all PMs are completed on time, with no overdue results
- Assisting Sales in maintaining Customer relations while also playing a key role in startups with new accounts
- Assisting Network Team in securing freight from broker boards for tough reload areas
- Liaison between other departments and operations personnel for additional assistance on needed paperwork, actions, and information
- Assists COO in development of budgets and goals
- Monitors KPI’s to ensure goal attainment is achieved
- Responsible for hiring/disciplinary actions and performance reviews of employees
- Development of direct reports through regular 1-1s and quarterly performance reviews
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- 4 year degree in a business field preferred
- Expert knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Office software
- Logistics experience/knowledge of trucking industry
- 3-5 years job related experience required
- Previous Supervisory experience in a Transportation environment
- Experience with Qualcomm/Omnitracs, PTI, CSA Performer, McLeod systems is a plus.
