• Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) per instructions, checklists, guides, protocols, and emails.
• Performs post‑execution quality checks and verifies grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling meet safety protocols, deployment standards, and Network Design Tasks.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots following standard procedures, quickly identifies causes of issues, and replaces faulty components.
• Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following procedures with minimal guidance.
• Communicates, reports, and escalates incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
• Performs troubleshooting and swaps out failed components.
• Supports logistics/warehouse operations (sending/receiving).
• Handles storage media/data bearing device reconciliation and physical audits.
• Basic server repair following documented procedures.
• Updates and audits MS Asset data.
• Builds Middle of Rack (MOR) configurations.
• Performs power cycles.
• Processes RMAs and coordinates with Logistics Team.
• Installs software and firmware updates.
• Stages, runs, and labels cables with basic networking, connectivity troubleshooting, and computer hardware knowledge.
• Cleans fiber links.
• Scopes, tests, QC’s, and troubleshoots power and cable connections.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
• 1+ year’s experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous datacenter experience is a plus.
• Required PPE: safety glasses, cut‑abrasion‑resistant gloves, steel or composite boots, high‑visibility vest, and approved mask or respirator.

Contract position based in West Des Moines, IA.

$20.00–$25.00 per hour.
