Senior Business Analyst - Annuities & Policy Systems

Hybrid: 2-3 days a week in the office

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong annuity domain knowledge to support critical policy administration and document systems initiatives. This role will partner closely with technical teams during the conversion of legacy COBOL systems to .NET, while also providing hands‑on quality assurance and policy document validation support.

Initially, this position will focus on Policy Pages QA responsibilities
, working directly with developers to validate policy documents prior to submission to the Product Filing team. Over time, the role will expand to include learning and supporting xPression/xDesign development, serving as a functional and technical backup to the Policy Pages developer.

This is a high‑impact role that requires a strong understanding of annuity products, attention to detail, and the ability to bridge business and technical teams in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Annuity Systems & Business Analysis

  • Partner with technical teams to support the conversion of annuity systems from COBOL to .NET, ensuring business rules and policy logic are accurately translated.
  • Leverage prior annuity domain expertise to clarify requirements, validate system behavior, and reduce risk during modernization efforts.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to document functional requirements and system impacts.

Policy Pages QA & Document Validation

  • Serve as the primary QA resource for Policy Pages, validating policy documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory alignment.
  • Work closely with the Policy Pages developer to review and QA documents prior to submission to the Product Filing team.
  • Identify defects, document findings, and coordinate corrections with development teams.

Policy Pages Development Support (Growth Path)

  • Learn xPression/xDesign used by Policy Pages to support document generation and formatting.
  • Act as a functional and technical backup to the Policy Pages developer once ramped up.
  • Support enhancements and maintenance of policy document templates and logic.
  • (xPression experience is a plus but not required.)

Data Validation & Technical Support

  • Perform basic SQL queries to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and support QA and analysis efforts.
  • Support testing efforts related to policy data, document outputs, and system integrations.
  • Assist with defect tracking, root‑cause analysis, and regression testing as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior annuity experience with a strong understanding of annuity products and policy administration.
  • Experience working closely with technical teams on system enhancements or modernization initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience performing QA or validation activities.
  • Basic SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a regulated financial services environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting legacy system modernization (e.g., COBOL to .NET).
  • Exposure to or interest in learning xPression/xDesign.
  • Experience supporting policy documentation, filings, or regulatory workflows.
  • Background in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Why This Role
  • Direct involvement in core annuity platform modernization.
  • Opportunity to expand skills into policy document development and xPression.
  • High visibility role supporting regulatory‑critical systems.
  • Strong collaboration with technical and product teams.
