Overview

UnityPoint Health – Clinical Care Attendant, Express Care - Jordan Creek

Monday-Friday - 3 x 12 hour shifts and every 3rd weekend - Sat/Sun 8AM-8PM

Full-time + benefits

$5,000 sign on bonus offered to external candidates

Responsibilities
  • The Clinical Care Attendant supports providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role includes patient intake, vital sign collection, performing point-of-care tests, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from arrival to checkout. The attendant acts as a key team member, facilitating communication between patients, providers, and staff while maintaining compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
  • Greet, register, and room patients; collect vital signs and patient history.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
  • Provide patient education and comfort, review after-visit instructions, and conduct follow-up calls.
  • Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinic logs per protocol.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and staff effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and safety standards.
  • Participate in clinic meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Iowa certification as EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or CMA.
  • CMA must have certification through AAMA, NHA, NCCT or AMT (RMA) and have completed an accredited program
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Clinical experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with EHR systems preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and cultural sensitivity.
