Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in your community? LSI is looking for Host Home Providers in the Northwest Iowa region. You can change the world and have a huge impact by hosting an adult with disabilities in your home. Disabilities supported may include, but are not limited to, intellectual, physical, mental health and brain injuries.

As an independent Host Home Provider you will provide guidance, support, and care for the individual living in your home. You will work with the mentee on goals such as shopping, budgeting, coping skills, cooking meals, personal hygiene, and community integration. You will serve as an advocate and mentor, helping them live their best life possible while building a meaningful relationship with the person you host.

This is a contracted position. LSI will match providers with mentees and provide training, resources, safety checks, and ongoing support. Mandatory training and a home safety check are required before a match can be made.

Our average Independent Provider pay is $70,000 annually.

The Northwest Region includes 33 counties across Northwest Iowa, encompassing the Ames area and surrounding towns such as Ames, Boone, Orange City, Sioux City, Denison, Carroll, Sac City, Fort Dodge, Hampton, Algona, Mason City, Charles City, New Hampton, and many others listed in the job description.

• You must be 21 or older.
• You must reside in Iowa.
• You must have a high school diploma or GED.
• You must have a current/valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• You must meet minimum insurance requirements, including commercial general liability insurance.
• You must have access to a computer/internet to complete documentation requirements.
• You must successfully complete all steps of the extensive screening, interview, and matching process before an individual can begin receiving support in your home.
• You must have flexibility, creativity, and a passion for making a difference in the world.
• Background checks are required of all adults in the home over age 18, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, criminal history, reference checks, and a home safety check.
