As a Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing files to gather current beneficiary information and other necessary documents needed to process the claim, and then process the claim according to system guidelines, contract language, and state statutes. This will include reviewing policy contracts, Trusts, Power of Attorney documents, wills, and various legal documents. You will have a strong focus on customer service, as you will be responsible for promptly and efficiently answering questions from our customers and following up on outstanding issues.

No two days are the same, so it’s important to be adaptable and flexible as you will have other duties as assigned.

• Previous claims experience required.
• Previous life insurance and/or annuity experience preferred.
• Knowledge of annuities and IRS tax law as they apply to the claims process is preferred.
• Must have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.
• Ability to work from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
