Water Distribution Specialist

Overview

Two positions available.

• Designs and plans metering systems, electronic and pneumatic control systems, and data acquisition.
• Installs, configures, and maintains PLC and control systems.
• Performs installation, maintenance, modification and repair tasks associated with electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment and systems in treatment facilities.
• Uses a computer to create/edit technical and/or administrative documentation and correspondence.
• Leads & coordinates the installation of new equipment, staff training, and documentation and procedure.
• Adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Inspects completed work for proper operation and safety.
• Rotates on-call status to respond to emergencies or other critical incidents as directed.
• Communicates with County staff, contract engineers, and vendors on equipment & designs for process control and data acquisition systems, including availability and applicability of components.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Associate’s degree or Vocational Technical Certification in Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics or related field.
• Three years progressively skilled and knowledgeable experience in industrial electronics maintenance and repair, preferably in a public utilities function performing installation and maintenance on process control components and automated systems
• More than three years experience in the field may substitute for a portion of the educational requirement; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certified Waste Water Operator Class III desirable

  Regularly required to move, life, and carry up to 50 pounds; regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including hot, cold, and humid temperatures and conditions; possible bodily injury from electrical shock, explosions, toxic or caustic chemicals; falling from high, exposed places; and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, and machinery
• Salary Grade: 51
• Status:
  Non-Exempt (NE) - Employees are eligible for overtime pay
• Schedule:
  
  Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:30 p.m.
