TeleHospitalist - Physician - Iowa and Illinois

Position is employed with UnityPoint Clinic. You will provide Tele Hospitalist coverage at multiple UnityPoint hospitals and work within a fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination. Flexibility with schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• 12, 12-hour shifts per month
• Self-scheduling
• Response time within 30 minutes
• Utilize Vidyo Telehealth

• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Manage cross-coverage and low-acuity admissions (as needed) on the overnight shift for one or more hospitals
• Cross-cover needs, including entering orders, contacting nurses, staff, patients, or families
• Assist with transfers to higher level of care if needed overnight, transfer to ICU or other floors within the same facility, and evaluate patients via Vidyo as needed
• Documentation per CMS & TH guidelines for H&Ps, cross-coverage, significant events, handoff, etc.

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Requires 1 year of bedside clinical experience as a Hospitalist
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in your state of residency, and IA, IL and WI
• Current and unrestricted authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary in the physician’s field of practice
• Credentialed at all UPH hospitals staffed by a Tele Hospitalist
• Unemployable states: NY, CA, OR, VT, WA, DC
