About the Role

Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for a specific portion of a construction project. Significant areas of responsibility are safety, compliance, coordination of materials, scheduling, and proper handling of project materials.

Position Logistics
  • Work Location: This position will be working on an industrial manufacturing facility project near the Des Moines, Iowa area.
  • Work Schedule: Dependent upon project schedule and progress
  • Work Type: Full Time, Non-exempt
Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and adjust project schedules, coordinating across all trades and phases
  • Manage site logistics, including access, material storage, deliveries and equipment
  • Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Oversee subcontractor work and maintain site documentation, including RFI's, daily reports, and safety records
  • Oversee procurement, vendor management, and material ordering
  • Oversee punch list completion and final project inspections
  • Lead project coordination meetings and facilitate issue resolution
  • Track and report on costs, including labor and materials
  • Serve as the primary contact for project communication and stakeholder management
  • Manage the preparation of final as-builts and closeout documentation
  • Conduct safety orientations and training for site personnel
  • Attend all required safety trainings and meetings
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related degree preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in construction management or related occupation
  • Experience in construction layout, plan, and shop drawing readings
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience and construction management software programs
  • Valid Drivers license
