Bartender – El Torito at Xperience Restaurant Group (XRG)

Pay Rate: $16.90 per hour, plus tips.

Description

The bartender will welcome guests, accurately take all food and beverage orders, and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner to the guest’s satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide guests with accurate and thorough information regarding menu items, pricing, and allergen information.
  • Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business.
  • Take and enter orders into the POS system promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure all food and drinks are served promptly and according to specifications.
  • Replenish stock during shifts.
  • Move furniture as directed by management.
  • Verify guest identification to confirm age of 21+ before serving.
  • Provide service to food servers in a timely manner.
  • Follow precise drink recipes when dispensing drinks.
  • Organize and prioritize service.
  • Respond to guest concerns/complaints and resolve errors while maintaining a positive attitude; escalating to management when necessary.
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures and state and federal liquor laws.
  • Maintain company safety and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions; process guest payments by cash, credit card, venue comps and other tender types.
  • Collect signatures and promptly close guest checks.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of all bar monies and perform independent banking procedures; sign all cash out slips legibly.
  • Perform complete and proper check‑out procedures.
  • Clean all spills immediately and dispose of trash properly.
  • Inform management of any complaints, comments or incidents.
  • Complete nightly/weekly and opening/closing duties.
  • Record and report equipment failures and/or safety hazards to management immediately.
  • Rotate liquor, beer, wine and consumables properly.
  • Keep bar top clean and free of dirty glasses, ashtrays, trash during shifts.
  • Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive guests and bring to management’s attention.
  • Refuse further service of alcohol to overly intoxicated guests in a courteous and safety‑minded manner.
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Age 21+.
  • Possession or ability to possess all state‑required work cards.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience.
  • Experience with POS systems.
  • Strong beer and spirits knowledge.
  • Proper lifting techniques.
  • Guest relations experience.
  • Sanitation and safety knowledge.
  • Safe alcohol service knowledge.
  • Full‑service restaurant operations experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in English, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public.
Working Conditions
  • Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot and/or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
  • Work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, depending on guest volume.
  • Fast‑paced, high‑volume, full‑service restaurant.
  • Work varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements for long periods of time.
  • Understand spoken English.
  • Speak clearly.
  • Push and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
