A Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) teaching job involves instructing nursing students in the principles and practices of medical-surgical nursing, both in classroom and clinical settings. Responsibilities include developing and delivering curriculum, evaluating student performance, providing feedback, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

• Curriculum Development and Delivery:
  • Developing and updating lesson plans and materials for both classroom and clinical settings.
  • Delivering lectures, conducting laboratory sessions, and supervising students in clinical rotations.
  • Ensuring curriculum aligns with current surgical practices and relevant standards.
• Student Evaluation and Feedback:
  • Assessing student knowledge and skill levels through various methods (e.g., exams, clinical evaluations, assignments).
  • Providing constructive feedback to students on their performance, both immediately after observations and at midterm/end of semester.
• Clinical Supervision and Guidance:
  • Supervising students in clinical settings, ensuring they provide safe and effective patient care.
  • Clarifying clinical expectations with students and clinical staff.
  • Preparing clinical experiences and assignments to meet student learning needs.
• Mentorship and Support:
  • Serving as a mentor and role model for students.
