We are searching for a Fitness Trainer (Certified Training Certificate REQUIRED) to join our team! As a member of our team, you will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.

Responsibilities

Planet Fitness PE@PF program:

  • Run PE@PF programs for participants (3-8 people per session) and create schedules for members.
  • Consult with members regarding fitness goals and instruct them on proper and safe use of equipment.
  • Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
  • Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.

Customer Service/Front Desk

Activities:

  • Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service and making them feel comfortable and welcomed.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
  • Check members in, tour and sign up new members, log amenities and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
  • Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the point of sale system.
  • Elevate issues to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
  • Utilize POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, billing or payment questions.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain facility cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep: mopping spills under equipment, trash removal, cleaning windows/mirrors, re-racking weights.
  • Clean exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Clean restroom and wet area and restock supplies.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Passion for fitness and health.
  • Upbeat and positive attitude.
  • 6-12 months of customer service experience preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
  • Ability to pass background screening required.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Punctuality and reliability essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills; ability to exceed member expectations.
  • Strong listening skills and empathy; problem solving ability.
  • Diplomacy in all interactions, appropriate behavior and language.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and walking during shift.
  • Continual talking (in person or on phone) during shift.
  • Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals.
