Job Summary

Areas of responsibility will include individual donors, corporate donors, event fundraising, and external grants. Will designate, develop and autonomously manage a portfolio of current and potential supporters, working with them to strategically achieve both the Foundation’s and their personal fund-raising goals. Responsible for the identifying, engaging and cultivating donors of $5,000 or more, with a special focus upon building relationships with corporate donors and community partners.

Working with the senior leadership of the Foundation, members of the Foundation Board, volunteers and hospital employees, will forge and foster relationships for the advancement of the Foundation’s and hospital’s missions.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Public Health, Non Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

Experience:

5 Years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropic development or a related field.

Required Training: Knowledge of office systems;

  • Must have demonstrated success in fundraising strategy, event planning donor development or business/corporate relations;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate ideas in a clear and organized manner to internal team and external constituents required;
    Comfortable with using social media platforms;
  • Must be proficient with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising database systems.
Essential Functions
  • Work closely with Foundation development colleagues, physicians, senior administrators and volunteers to develop and implement strategies to secure financial support for approved fundraising initiatives including identification, cultivation and primarily, solicitation of major donors and prospects (i.e. corporations, foundations, individuals) of $5,000 or more, to include gifts of assets and external grants.
  • In addition to soliciting event sponsor ships, will ensure benefit fulfillment and stewardship for sponsors, and support event management details as needed.
  • Manage a prospect pool of 75-100 donors and prospects ensuring that solicitations and/or meaningful stewardship contacts are undertaken with all donors and prospects on an annual basis and achieve 150+ donor moves annually.
  • Write and/or refine case statements and requests for support to meet donor interests and track all contacts with assigned donors in Raisers Edge.
  • Support the work of identifying cultivation strategies for specific donors, including assisting Board Members and other senior volunteers in playing an effective role in donor cultivation and solicitation.
  • Maintain and further cultivate effective interpersonal relationships with major donors and prospects, representing the Foundation in a highly ethical and confidential manner.
