We are seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to support high-voltage power distribution and power conversion products used in data center environments. This individual will oversee test processes, ensure compliance with customer and data center specifications, and work closely with test technicians on the production floor.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization in the early stages of building out its testing department. As the team grows, there will be strong potential for advancement into Test Engineering leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain cost-effective test methods for high-voltage power systems, including power inverters, PDUs, and bulk power distribution equipment
- Develop, execute, and improve test plans, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with data center specifications and industry standards
- Determine test conditions, sequences, and operational phases for product validation and production testing
- Analyze and interpret test data; prepare technical reports for engineering and management
- Troubleshoot product or system malfunctions and partner with engineering to resolve technical issues
- Work closely with test technicians on the production floor to support daily testing activities
- Train and mentor test technicians on equipment, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques
- Drive root cause analysis for test yield issues and implement corrective actions
- Support calibration, installation, and maintenance of test equipment and instrumentation
- Contribute to the development and scaling of the testing department as production ramps
- High-voltage systems (primarily 480V+, some medium voltage exposure)
- Power inverters, PDUs, circuit breakers, and bulk power systems
- Data center power infrastructure requirements and compliance standards
- Functional and system-level testing of electrical equipment
- Development or modification of test programs (LabVIEW, C++, or similar tools is a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred (BSEE)
- Non-degreed candidates with extensive relevant high-voltage testing experience will be considered
- Experience in bulk power systems, power distribution, power electronics, or inverter technologies
- Hands-on experience working with high-voltage equipment (480V+)
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production test environments
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor working alongside technicians
- Experience in data center power systems is a plus
- Background with companies in similar power infrastructure manufacturing is a plus
This role offers significant growth opportunity as the testing department expands. High performers may progress into Test Engineering Supervisor or Manager roles as additional engineers and technicians are hired.
