Performs administrative/secretarial support and performs diversified administrative and secretarial functions.
Duties And Responsibilities- Answer telephone to provide information, take messages, or transfer calls.
- Greet visitors, determine the nature of business, and direct visitors to their destination.
- Maintain a calendar of athletic events.
- Learn, understand and execute all rules and regulations set forth by the South Carolina High School League and Lexington School District Two.
- Assist with activity fees.
- Send out Sports You messages as directed by the athletic director.
- Communicate with other school athletic administrators regarding upcoming events.
- Maintain confidentiality and a need-to-know policy with regard to staff and student information.
- Maintain office equipment, perform routine maintenance/repairs, and notify appropriate service workers when necessary.
- May be required to dispense first aid to students.
- Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Perform clerical duties for the athletic director such as schedule room usage for athletic teams, athletics website, create rosters, schedules and complete academic eligibility checks for student athletes.
- Create and maintain a Letterman s Database for Airport High School, as well as distribute post-season awards to coaches.
- Create and maintain a yearly database for submission of physicals and necessary related paperwork for the yearly eligibility of each athlete.
- Enter the information for SCHSL eligibility into Planet
HS for each sport for athletic director approval. - Collect and submit transportation information for each sport.
- Other duties assigned by the Principal and Athletic Director.
- Obtain Notary Certification within 90 days.
High school graduate or equivalent. Secretarial or clerical experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
KnowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and good working knowledge of Business English and grammar. Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and operations. Working knowledge of the principles of office management and of modern office procedures. Knowledge of the records and forms to be prepared and maintained.
Skills/EffortStrong technology skills, i.e., websites, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and digital photography. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and telephone skills. Ability to interpret and apply detailed oral and written instructions.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively using Standard English before groups of employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to pass a basic skills test and technology proficiency test. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
