Job Description Shelter Program Account Manager Franklin, TN Remote

As a Shelter Program Account Manager, the goal is to drive, convert, and service shelters in the Mars Adopt a Pet Shelter Plus program with excellence. Using deep understanding of shelter operations and challenges, you will lead business development by recruiting, onboarding, and supporting new shelters. The Shelter Program Account Manager will also build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with existing shelter accounts, ensuring their satisfaction and engagement with our holistic program and food delivery services.

As a trusted advisor, you will provide tailored solutions that meet shelter needs and foster long‑term partnerships.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Previous experience in the Veterinary or Animal Welfare space
  • 2+ years' experience in sales and managing accounts
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A passion for making a better world for pets
  • Relationships and understanding of the Shelter & Rescue Network (experience with Shelters preferred)
  • Passionate about serving and working across the Mars Ecosystem including pet nutrition, veterinary care, & diagnostics
  • 60% travel required
What would be your key responsibilities?

Business Development:

  • Utilize your experience and insight into shelter pain points and opportunities to engage shelters and manage all aspects of the recruiting, onboarding, training, and implementing the Shelter Plus program. Achieve the following KPI:
    Recruit and onboard 25 new shelters annually to the Shelter Plus program.

Relationships with Existing Accounts:

  • Maintain satisfaction and overall participation with existing shelters:
    Establish trust and rapport with shelter management and staff and ensure that the holistic program and food delivery meet their expectations. Serve as a credible advisor, offering solutions grounded in your firsthand understanding of shelter operations. Meet the following KPI: 80% retention rate of shelter contracts.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee’s work schedule).

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part‑time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave.

Employees will also receive the following paid‑time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee’s work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
