Housekeeper

Westtown School seeks an experienced Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness in designated campus buildings and offices. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the full-time Housekeeper works from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required for campus events. This is a year-round, benefits-eligible position. Housekeeping team members are considered essential personnel and, as such, are expected to be available during inclement weather and other school-closing situations.

Westtown School is an independent, Quaker pre-K to 12, college-preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia. Essential Responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum designated areas;
• Trash removal and disposal;
• Cleaning of high-use surfaces in accordance with our current disinfecting and sanitizing protocols;
• Disinfecting bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and countertops, replacing paper products, sweeping, and mopping floors;
• Cleaning of dormitory, offices and classroom areas;
• Routine detail cleaning of assigned areas;
• May assist with some event setups and breakdowns, including moving tables and chairs;
• May assist in moving small furniture items, including bed frames, mattresses, and similar items;
• Maintain professional and appropriate relations with students, parents, and staff at all times;
• Adhere to all safety protocols and proper usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience
• A team player with strong customer service skills
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend over unassisted
• Must have reliable transportation, driver's license preferred
• Dependable and able to work independently without close supervision
