Pocopson Elementary School

Second Grade Grade Para and Third Grade Para

Hours 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

5 hours per day x 182 days per year

Salary $14.37 per hour

Available Immediately

Work while your children are in school and be off when they are off.

Qualifications - High School Diploma - experience preferred

Ability to deal with interruptions

Ability to multi-task - flexibility

Effective communication skills: written - oral - telephone - interpersonal

Computer skills

Ability to work with students and meet their specific needs: emotional - social - academic - physical

Ability to work with teachers and staff

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to supervise students using good judgment and school guidelines

Ability to observe, assess and problem solve

Ability to work independently

Ability to work as a team member

Maintain pleasant, positive child/client-centered attitude

Maintain a secure environment

Essential Job Functions

Work with students on subject matter

Recess/Lunch - Classroom Coverage

Prepare learning materials and centers (primary)

Work with, assist, observe, redirect student

Re-teaching - academic support

Organizing

Teaching social behavior

Assisting child w/difficult time

Clerical - record scores, etc.

Clearances required for employment:

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)

Pennsylvania State Criminal Record Check (Act 34)

Federal Criminal History Record Check (Act 114)
