Position: Maintenance Planner (SugarCreek)
Location: Olde West Chester

Description Summary

Plan and coordinate preventive, planned, and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and operational effectiveness. Schedule maintenance tasks, manage work orders, maintain accurate records, support new part requests, support preventive maintenance (PM) development, and collaborate with Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Supervisors, and various other teams.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Training & Mentoring Manager to review and continuously improve PM program for all industrial equipment and machinery located in the plant.
  • Monitor plant-wide planned production schedules, backlogs, completion rates, and report results by analyzing different key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate, lead, and train other maintenance personnel in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities, including Review and Response Meetings and daily maintenance meetings.
  • Conduct advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, asset reliability, budget development, and cost analysis to determine project feasibility.
  • Solicit quotes from vendors/contractors when necessary for different projects and schedule maintenance with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or third parties using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Train Maintenance Technicians on CMMS System (SAP).
  • Lead maintenance planning meetings in the plant to schedule work orders and use of plant resources.
  • Analyze data relating to overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) when working with Maintenance Technicians on reliability improvement projects.
  • Identify and notify Training and Maintenance Managers of recurring faults on specific equipment to determine need for root cause analysis (RCA) review.
  • Participate with Technical Leads to read manuals and maintenance requirements for all new machines and develop sufficient PM schedule based on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements and on personal knowledge.
  • Monitor completed tasks and update preventative maintenance schedule accordingly.
  • Notify Corporate MRO Team of any equipment moves, transfers, and installations.
  • Coordinate with MRO Manager to manage inventory control.
  • Procure materials and labor to accomplish CEAR projects and other Sugar Creek maintenance/repair projects.
  • Work directly with Project Engineer to plan and coordinate Capital Expenditure Appropriation Request (CEAR) projects with outside contractors and maintenance.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow Sugar Creek safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required;
Associate’s Degree in Industrial/Construction Technology or similar field, or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of industrial, electrical, or mechanical experience.

CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: None.

Abilities, Knowledge, And Skills Required
  • Able to repair, maintain and troubleshoot machinery, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
  • Know how to use critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Able to use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
  • Able to write detailed repair reports.
  • Possess the skills needed to operate basic office computer software proficiently, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Able to budget time, predict job completion, and estimate job duration.
  • Know environmental, health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
  • Know how to manage chemicals and other hazardous materials properly.
  • Know how to communicate effectively and efficiently using both verbal and written skills.
Physical Requirements

No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with maintenance‑type positions, including considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, and may occasionally involve climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of tools. Maintenance Planner may be required to lift items weighing up to 60 lbs.

Work Environment

Some travel to other locations is required.

Some work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility. Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats, and other necessary equipment. Very little work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
