Data Security and Compliance Consultant
Location:
West Chester, OH (Hybrid or Remote)
Salary based on experience $70,000-$110,000 annually
The Data Security and Compliance Senior Consultant (C1) leads smaller projects with minimal supervision and provides hands‑on technical expertise to design, implement, and optimize security solutions that deliver measurable business value.
This role supports solution delivery, advises clients on security and technology decisions, and contributes to successful project execution through technical skill, customer engagement, and collaboration with senior consultants and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Lead smaller projects with little or no oversight.
- Implement solutions based on documented designs.
- Understand design decisions and explain their impact on technology and security outcomes.
- Maintain working knowledge of required licensing for deployed features.
- Assist with project scoping and design as part of a larger delivery team.
- Support planning, scheduling, and completion of projects on time and within budget.
- Understand client business objectives and how security technology supports those goals.
- Communicate proactively with client stakeholders to maintain transparency.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing recommendations aligned with client best interests.
- Transfer knowledge to clients as part of service delivery.
- Identify additional opportunities within existing accounts and collaborate with senior team members to pursue them.
- Manage multiple project commitments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Support documentation, timelines, and deliverables.
- Contribute to successful execution of project plans and schedules.
- Mentor other team members when appropriate.
- Share technical insights and best practices across the team.
- Collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, and cross‑functional teams.
- Successful delivery of projects aligned to client business outcomes.
- Strong client relationships built on trust, expertise, and communication.
- Consistent on‑time and on‑budget project delivery.
- Identification of growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Measurable contributions to team knowledge sharing and development.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (5 years).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Purview solutions, including:
- Data Loss Prevention
- Insider Risk Management
- Data Map
- Unified Catalog
- Audit
- Compliance Manager
- eDiscovery
- Data Security Posture Management for AI
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.
- Experience integrating Microsoft and third‑party solutions with Purview.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to business scenarios.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance individual responsibilities with team priorities.
- Ability to leverage AI tools responsibly, including validation and fact‑checking of outputs.
- Experience with third‑party data security, governance, and compliance platforms (e.g., Varonis, Symantec).
- Advanced knowledge of data mapping practices and methodologies.
- Certifications in relevant third‑party solutions.
- SC-401 — Microsoft Certified:
