School Therapist

Overview

The School Therapist functions as a member of a treatment team and school team, which may consist of staff with a variety of mental health, education, or medical backgrounds. Therapist assists the treatment team to plan and deliver clinical services, case coordination, intervention, consultation and/or education services to children, adolescents, adults, and families while working in a school setting.

    Bachelor’s degree

• Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Experience
  • Minimum Level of Experience
    
    Required:
    
    No prior job-related work experience
  • Preferred experience:
    
    Training and experience in providing individual psychotherapy, community support psychiatric services, and group psychotherapy
  • Other experience requirements:
    Experience in using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM 5 TR

  • Knowledge of human behavior, learning, and motivation
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate mental and emotional disorders under supervisory guidance
