Night Shift - Monday to Thursday, 7:30pm to 6:00am
Position Summary:
A specialist manufacturer in the pipeline fabrication industry is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join their team on the night shift. This role involves fabricating and welding pipeline components such as flanges, tees, bends, reducers, and pipe specials, primarily for use in the water and infrastructure sectors. You will be working with coated carbon steel products and delivering high-quality MIG and Flux Core welding in line with technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG and Flux Core welding of carbon steel pipework and related fittings to high standards
Prepare and assemble components including pipes, flanges, bends, tees, and specials prior to welding
Set and adjust welding equipment for each specific job
Inspect welds for penetration, finish, and overall quality
Use grinders, cutting tools, and linishing machines for fabrication and finishing tasks
Work alongside specialist coating teams to ensure products meet coating requirements, including fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coating (training provided if required)
Maintain and service welding equipment and fabrication tools
Interpret and work from CAD drawings, welding symbols, and detailed specifications
Adhere to strict health and safety protocols at all times
Collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets and maintain workflow
Required
Skills and Experience:
MIG welding and Flux Core welding experience with carbon steel (pipework, structural, or heavy fabrication)
Proven ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
Skilled in the use of fabrication tools such as grinders, linishers, and saws
Experience fabricating pipeline components including flanges, bends, tees, and reducers
High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
Solid understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
Welding qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3
Previous experience in the pipeline, water, or infrastructure sectors
Knowledge of specialist coatings, including fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) - training will be provided if necessary
