Overview of RoleLocation: West Bromwich
In this role you will lead our manufacturing operation at a primary bakery and be part of the Site Leadership Team. You will drive a positive, engaged culture, manage safety, performance and cost efficiencies, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams across the group.
Key Responsibilities- Drive a safety culture by improving and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, legal and company requirements.
- Provide effective leadership, development and motivation of the manufacturing team to meet or exceed all KPIs.
- Optimise product quality, continually review manufacturing practices and implement initiatives that maximise performance and reduce operating costs.
- Partner with engineering and technical managers to deliver a food‑safe, reliable and effective manufacturing process.
- Work with the regional and national manufacturing teams to implement and support national initiatives and projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and site procedures, including contractor control.
- Act as an active member of the site/regional management team, fully participating in activities as required.
- Build and develop effective cross‑functional relationships with the management team on site and the wider AMB manufacturing team.
- Successful leadership experience in a commercially challenging, results‑driven and fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Graduate in Manufacturing or Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
- Excellent project management and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and development skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships and lead and influence at all levels of the business.
- Lateral thinker with good critical reasoning skills, capable of identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering pragmatic solutions with high commercial acumen.
