£150 per day

Wright Choice Education is currently recruiting a School Caretaker to work across primary and secondary school settings in Sandwell and Dudley. This role is ideal for a reliable and practical individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised school environment.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and upkeep of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

* Open and close the school site as required

* Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs

* Ensure the school premises and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained

* Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems

* Conduct routine health & safety checks

* Set up rooms and equipment for school activities and events

* Liaise with contractors and report any maintenance issues

* Ensure safeguarding, security, and site safety procedures are followed

Essential Experience & Skills

* Previous experience in a caretaking, site management, or maintenance role

* Good practical and DIY skills

* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

* Awareness of health & safety procedures

Desirable Skills & Attributes

* Experience working in a school or educational setting

* Knowledge of COSHH and site safety regulations

* Strong communication skills

* Flexible approach to working hours when required
