Alexander Daniels are partnering with a growing organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial operations, reporting, and business partnering across the business. This is a high-impact role suited to a technically strong, commercially aware finance professional looking to take ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and all financial reporting.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
  • Manage statutory submissions including VAT and CIS, ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Support payroll accounting and reporting.
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive improvements in financial processes and systems.
  • Work closely with senior leaders across operational and commercial teams.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Provide financial insights to support pricing, decision-making, and performance improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and process enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage working capital across receivables, payables, and inventory.
  • Proactively identify and respond to potential liquidity challenges.
  • Support teams across the business with clear, insightful financial guidance.

Key Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, Part Qualified/ Finalist will be considered with strong previous experience.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, CIS, payroll processes, and financial compliance.
  • Confident in audit preparation, financial control, and statutory reporting.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
