Location: Oldbury

Supply Star Little Learners Recruitment is working in partnership with a nursery chain based in Oldbury, who aim to provide the highest childcare and education available within Oldbury and surrounding areas. They currently have a part-time vacancy for a passionate and experienced Early Years SENCo to join their friendly and supportive team!

The Role

The nursery are looking for a dedicated Early Years SENCO to lead their inclusion strategy. You will be the champion for their vulnerable learners, ensuring that every child—regardless of their starting point—has the support they need to flourish during their most formative years.

Key Responsibilities as a Early Years SENCo

* Early Identification:
Lead the "Graduated Approach" (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) to identify developmental delays or SEND at the earliest opportunity.

* Strategic Leadership:
Work with the Management Team (SLT) to shape a truly inclusive EYFS curriculum.

* Expert Liaison:
Act as the primary link between the setting, parents, and external professionals (Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, and Health Visitors).

* Staff Mentoring:
Provide "on-the-ground" coaching for colleagues to help them adapt their practice for sensory or neurodiverse needs.

* About You

* Qualified:
You must hold either a L2 or L3 full and relevant Early Years qualification

* Experienced:
You have a good understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework and the SEND Code of Practice.

* Empathetic:
You can navigate sensitive conversations with parents who may be at the very start of their SEND journey.

* Organised:
You have a proactive approach to paperwork and meeting statutory deadlines.

Hours

Term - time, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 3.00pm

The nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to an enhanced DBS check and 2 satisfactory references
