Would you like to teach BIOLOGY including A Level to students (11-18) with OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOUR and ATTITUDES?
WOOD GREEN ACADEMY is seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed, and well-qualified teacher of Biology. As an academy, we are over-subscribed and consistently achieve some of the highest results in Sandwell. In our most recent OFSTED of February 2020 the school was judged to be good with outstanding features. We are extremely proud of being one of few secondary schools in the country to have been graded as outstanding for behaviour and attitudes under the new Ofsted framework.
This standard was maintained in our recent OFSTED inspection of April 2025. On top of that, we have an excellent location being less than 15 miles from the centre of Birmingham whilst having excellent national links via both the M5 and the M6.
You would join a welcoming, highly trained, and very supportive Science department. The department is led by the Head of Science and Biology who is supported by the Head of Chemistry, the Head of Physics and the Lead for Progression in Science (yr 7-9). The department has also great experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.
Responsibilities- Highly motivated and passionate about providing all students with the very best educational opportunities.
- Experienced in teaching A Level Biology or eager to be supported and develop to do so.
- Believe in the importance of excellent teaching in Science and can inspire students.
- Committed to further developing their teaching and professional skills.
- Experience in teaching Biology at A Level (or willingness to be supported to do so).
