Building Surveyor - Main Contractor (Social Housing Projects)

Our client, a well-established main contractor operating across the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects within the Sandwell area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented surveyor with a strong understanding of the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates (NHF SoR) to contribute to a respected and growing business.

• Conduct detailed site surveys, inspections, and measurements for social housing projects.
• Prepare accurate schedules of works and cost estimates using the NHF Schedule of Rates.
• Oversee and manage repair, maintenance, and refurbishment contracts from inception to completion.
• Liaise with clients, tenants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Prepare reports, valuations, and progress updates for stakeholders.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and contractual standards.

• Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, ideally within a main contractor or social housing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates (NHF SoR) is essential.
• Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Full UK driving licence and to a vehicle.
