Assistant Accountant – Interim

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a temporary basis for a business based in Wednesbury. This role offers an opportunity for you to take on a role that is rounded with a variation of tasks. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role.

• Support the Management Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
• Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
• Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
• Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
• Processing of credit card statements and employee expenses.
• Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
• Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors
• Other Adhoc tasks as required.

• AAT Qualified or QBE.
• Excellent Excel skills
• Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
