Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, active MI RN license, and AHA-issued BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Responsibilities- Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit in a hospital setting
- 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
- Mix of day and night shifts
- Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
- 13-week contract
- Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient and family care
- Communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participates in resolving variances from patient goals
- Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to start date, typically one week in advance, with a passing score required
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- Any time-off requests made after an offer is extended will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Required certifications (must be AHA-issued): BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Post-partum experience required
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical ability to formulate effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel
- COVID vaccination required for employment
