We're looking for Labor and Delivery RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in West Bend, WI. The right RN should have 3 years of recent acute care experience.
L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery of a baby. They must ensure that the medical as well as emotional needs of their patients are met at all times throughout the birthing process. As an L&D RN, you will assist physicians with epidurals or pain medications, episiotomies, and prepare patients for cesarean deliveries.
Key Responsibilities- Stay with and monitor patients throughout labor.
- Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
- Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
- Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids before and after the birthing process.
- Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
- Provide immediate care of newborns.
Job Requirements
L&D Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to lift 20 pounds and occasionally patients up to 50 pounds. The fast‑paced environment requires good stress‑coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Requirements*: BLS certification, 3+ years of recent acute care experience.
* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
Travel Job . Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
