Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients in an inpatient environment, primarily serving adult patients in a Labor & Delivery unit. The SNRO‑Inpatient role incorporates essential functions adapted from ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice. Additional duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients in an inpatient setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for identified patient group
- Maintain competency in adult patient care and apply best practices from ANA standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient management and discharge planning
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned by the unit manager or clinical director
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin or equivalent
- Minimum one year of RN experience (non‑BSN acceptable with BSN completion plan)
- Completion of AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 1 year of hire
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification through NCC within 18 months of hire
- BSN preferred; non‑BSN RN must enroll in BSN program within 15 months of hire and complete within 5 years (or 6 years if MSN/DNP/PhD)
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at level obtained via accredited nursing program
- Strong clinical competence in caring for Labor & Delivery patient population
