Overview

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for the daily setup and operation of Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC‑controlled punch presses in a just‑in‑time fabrication shop. The Operator may assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required. Position is 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday 10 pm to 6 am.

Responsibilities
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Set up and operate both a manual and hydraulic press or punch for routine established work.
  • Select correct tooling for the task using setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
  • Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead.
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
  • Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
  • Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work.
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
  • Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
  • Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
  • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or

Experience:

  • Must have strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication, hydraulic press and/or punch operations with set‑up experience.
  • Competent with basic dimensional measuring and quick to learn precision measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
  • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
  • Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.
  • Previous experience with overhead crane use desired.
  • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Work in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self‑motivation, and ability to multi‑task.
  • Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Previous experience working in a highly technical environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing strongly desired.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.

:

  • Reach Overhead with magnet assist for lifting.
  • Occasional work: 1–2 hrs/shift;
    Frequent work: 2–5 hrs/shift;
    Regular work: 5–8 hrs/shift.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to temperatures between 60–100 °F, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, and fumes from production equipment.
