The Diabetes Educator is responsible for utilizing established guidelines and protocols to assist in management of inpatient diabetes. The role includes patient diabetes education as well as evaluation of glycemic control. This individual demonstrates competency and utilization of order writing privileges to deliver care. The diabetes educator participates in compliance and quality improvement efforts to improve diabetes care provided throughout the organization.

Other duties as assigned. This position rotates between Froedtert West Bend Hospital and Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital.

A minimum of two years of clinical experience including diabetes care, required. Five years of clinical experience including diabetes care, preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics or a related field from an accredited school required.

Current Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, required. Current State of Wisconsin Certified Dietitian, required. Registered by the American Association of Diabetes Educators as a Certified Diabetes Educator or obtained within 3 years of hire or transfer, required.
